Event analysis on TRECVid 2008 LondonGatwick dataset

چکیده
In this paper we perform event analysis on a challenging surveillance dataset without any artificial events. We analyze low-level and high-level features such as motion vectors, change detection and pedestrian detections for recognition of events. We performed detection of three events namely person runs, elevator no entry and opposing flow. The event detection is performed on 60 hours of TRECVid 2008 event detection dataset.

'Person Runs' detection for the TRECVID Surveillance Event Detection task
We discuss an event detection approach based on local feature modeling, which is based on spatio-temporal cuboids and perspective normalization (QMUL-ACTIVA 3 / p-baseline 1). Motion information is compared against examples of events learned from a training dataset to define a similarity measure. This similarity measure is then analyzed in both space and time to identify frames containing insta...
متن کاملDefinition, Detection, and Evaluation of Meeting Events in Airport Surveillance Videos
Detection of events in the surveillance video selected for TRECVID 2008 is an extremely difficult task. It was not possible for us to evaluate on a variety of events and the entire length of the dataset. We participated in an exploratory task and selected a single “people meeting” event. This event was selected due to its frequency, importance and difficulty. It is actually a collection of simi...
متن کاملToshiba at TRECVID 2008: Surveillance Event Detection Task
In this paper, we describe the Toshiba event detection system for TRECVID surveillance event detection task [1] that detects three TRECVID required events (E05:PersonRuns, E19:ElevatorNoEntry, and E20:OpposingFlow). Our system (“Toshiba_1 p-cohog_1”) consists of four components: (1) robust change detection based on the combination of pixel intensity histogram, PTESC (Peripheral TErnary Sign Cor...
متن کاملEvent-based Video Retrieval Using Audio
Multimedia Event Detection (MED) is an annual task in the NIST TRECVID evaluation, and requires participants to build indexing and retrieval systems for locating videos in which certain predefined events are shown. Typical systems focus heavily on the use of visual data. Audio data, however, also contains rich information that can be effectively used for video retrieval, and MED could benefit f...
متن کاملUniversity of Central Florida at TRECVID 2008 Content Based Copy Detection and Surveillance Event Detection
In this paper, we describe our approaches and experiments in content-based copy detection (CBCD) and surveillance event detection pilot (SEDP) tasks of TRECVID 2008. We have participated in the video-only CBCD task and four of the SEDP events. The CBCD method relies on sequences of invariant global image features and efficiently matching and ranking of those sequences. The normalized Hu-moments...
